Which 5 golf memberships are there?

In principle, golfers have these 5 ways of becoming a golf member:

  1. Full membership  in a regional golf club: the classic
  2. Remote Membership:  is all the rage
  3. VcG : Association of club-free golfers
  4. Foreign golf membership : not recommended as there is no handicap management
  5. Public golf course : no membership required

There is no question that regular membership in a regional golf club and restaurants with games in Kansas City and long-distance membership are by far the most popular membership models in golf. Nevertheless, we want to briefly explain all the paths that lead to the golf course in the following.

The golf memberships in detail

Regular / Classic Membership:   A regular membership in a regional Golf Club has long been the membership model par excellence. For golfers who are found more than 20 times a year in the square, looking to improve their handicap and attach importance to maintain social contacts, it is still no alternative!

Distance membership: The trend  is moving away from regular membership – and clearly in the direction of distance membership . No wonder, after all, long-distance membership allows golfers at home and abroad to play on the golf courses of their choice for a green fee – and is also significantly cheaper than regular golf membership.

VCG – Association of Club-Free Golfers:  The benefits of membership in the Association of Club-Free Golfers (VcG), on the other hand, are quite similar to those of long-distance membership. In principle, there is nothing to be said against this membership model. On some golf courses, however, VcG members have to expect a higher green fee.

Foreign Membership: Foreign golf membership is often advertised as being particularly cheap. In fact, it now costs little less than a long-distance golf membership. We cannot recommend memberships abroad. The skepticism of the operators of German golf courses towards foreign golf IDs is too widespread. Not surprising, after all, there is no official management of the handicaps in foreign memberships.

After a few games at the latest, the call for new challenges becomes loud even among casual golfers. And they can only be found on private golf courses.
